Leadership Presence goes beyond having relevant experience, good technical skills and competency in “getting things done”. It is deeply personal and involves the ability to inspire others to trust you as a leader.
We can’t talk about leadership presence without talking about communication. Since COVID-19, there is a greater need for leaders to understand personal psychology of stakeholders to be able to connect and communicate better with them especially when face to face meetings are sparse.
The purpose of the program is to provide you with skills to communicate in a way that inspires others to trust you, establish credibility and influence.
How can we adapt and help our teams to do so in the face of uncertainty and disruption?
How do we not burn out from what we thought was a sprint, is now a marathon?
How do we lean into adversity and turn it into an opportunity?
This requires an agile mind; the ability to explore and navigate through ambiguity, to understand how our inner and outer worlds are connected, and what gives us or depletes our energy and motivation. Only then do we have clarity in our thinking to tackle challenges in the face of adversity.
There is a tension for professional women between attaining status and respect for their competency versus being liked. When women reach senior positions, sometimes there is a perception that they are too aggressive and may therefore not be well-liked; as such, women are taught to downplay femininity or soften a hard style or to strike the perfect balance between the two. We believe that teaching skills and techniques to manage perception of others, though helpful, addresses things superficially. It can deter attention from building the crucial foundation for success; an authentic leadership identity, upon which gravitas is built.
Also, according to research, women generally face two key challenges more so than men; confidence and networking.
Our workshops help women build their leadership identity or "personal branding" as a foundation and address the challenges mentioned above.
